Snow-packed Vegas

New year opens with snow in Las Vegas! Me, as a snow lover rejoiced over it, but it may have caused headaches to some motorist. But, really its a miracle to have snow in the desert. I'm sure most of the residents wouldn't mind snow for a day, hehe! Anyway,I live at the Southeastern part of Vegas. Unfortunately, it was raining ice only at the Northwestern part of the Valley. So, me and my husband drove for 40 mins just to get to the snow coated area. And, whoalllah! The view was heavenly! It was my first to ever see falling snow. I was like a kid first time in Disneyland, hehe! I really enjoyed it. Ofcourse, the whole experience wouldn't be complete without few shots here and there.

Here are shots of the snow fall... We were heading west when it rained ice. Awesome!

When the snow fall stopped, we maneuvered to Desert Breeze Park, along Spring Mountain Rd., Las Vegas and played with the snow.

Here are photos of me and Dennis having a great time...

Reviving Passion

I have always been a passionate type of person. I am surrounded with people who loves me and that made me a loving person too. Among the things I love is photography. I have always known that I have passion for it and that I was good at it. As a matter of fact, I was the school photojournalist way back in my high school days and have entered different local and even national competition. However, pursuing passion is difficult. You have to have not only the love itself, but also the skills, the gadgets, the money that would equip you to be the best in the field. I broke my old manual camera, that is why for a while, I spent time exploring other passion and left photography last on my list. Recently, my husband gave me a new DSLR camera as a thanksgiving gift, and it stirred that zealousness for photography. I have again fallen in love! And here I am reviving my old and favorite love---my amour for photography. Photography somehow brings out the creative and positive part of me. My fascination in this field not only serves as a creative outlet for me, but also, let me see the world on a different perspective. With my revived enthusiasm in this field, I'm sure its going to be a long way, high way fro me. Thank you so much Dennis for the gift!

Here are some of the photographs I have taken. I am still learning the functions of my new camera and regaining the artistic side of me. Expect to see more, and I really hope you'll like it. Feel free to comment, recommend and share photography skills that I may need to improve... Enjoy!

Hehe! Here's my attempt to be a wedding photographer...

Here are pictures of my Dennis... :)

Floyd Lamb State Park, Las Vegas, Nevada

One of the most incredible parts of fabulous Las Vegas has something to do with gaming or glittering lights, but mostly, has to do with its natural and man-made wonders. One of this is the Floyd Lamb State Park at Tule Springs, tucked away in northwest Las Vegas. It is a breathtaking oasis of lush vegetation, scenic views, serene lakes and bountiful wildlife, and it more than holds its own among the city’s more urban experiences.

The City of Las Vegas bought this land in 1964. The used-to-be Divorce Retreat House was then converted into a City Park and renamed in honor of state senator, Sen. Floyd Lamb. Today, Floyd Lamb State Park has 2,040 acres which include tree-shaded groves alongside four small fishing lakes, picnic areas, barbecues, scenic paths and volleyball and horseshoe facilities. Ducks, geese, chickens and peacocks are park residents. This place is fascinating!

Here are few of the pictures we have taken during our trip to Floyd Lamb State Park.

Sizzling Suits

It's summertime! More importantly, swimsuit season is here! One hot summer wouldn't just be complete without any trip to the beach. Comfy, sexy wear is required. So guys, here is what Cosmopolitan (March 2009) thinks as to what would make you feel hot (sizzling hot!!!) during this time. And what's more cool is anybody now can wear those tiny sexy thing whatever bod you are in.

P.S. Thank you COSMOPOLITAN Magazine for this. This is my interpretation. Thank you Polyvore, too, for making this possible... =) Enjoy!

MANual

I was reading Cosmopolitan Magazine (released September 2008) and passed through a very interesting list of 100 things women need to know about guys. Whoahhh! I found myself left laughing, stunned, curious and confused at the same time, hehe! I don't know how true this things are, but really I had fun reading it! So here, I listed my top 10 among the outrageous facts (cosmo said) about men.

1 - Most guys say it's more important that a girl has a pretty face than that she has a hot body.

2 - If a guy's ring finger is longer than his second finger, it means he has high testosterone levels... and is more likely to have a higher sex drive than a dude with same-length digits.

3 - Men prefer chicks who'll disagree with them. When a woman says yes to everything, suitors fear that her lack of resolve means she could be swayed to leave them for another guy.

4 - If you want him to feel relaxed on a date, talk about facts (say, what made the morning news) instead of feelings (how stressed you are at work). Men's brains aren't as naturally good at processing emotions as women are.

5 - Bachelors are prone to rebel against societal norms (getting tattoos, going to work on no sleep) more than coupled-up guys are because they haven't yet formed the sense of identity required to be in a relationship.

6 - Guys with masculine faces--strong jaws, pronounced eyebrows--are more likely than other types to date casually instead of have stable relationships, which is due to--yep--higher testosterone levels.

7 - The body parts that guys get self-conscious about are stomachs, body hair, and man boobs.

8 - Small-talk date topics that dudes hate? Number 1: his ex. Number 2: his money situation.

9 - First-date behavior that men read as high-maintenance red flags: making multiple food substitutions, complaining about the temperature, and having him hold your purse.

10 - It's not personal when they don't invite you along to watch sports. Guys get too absorbed in the action and can't make small talk during the game.

What do you think guys? Agree or disagree??? =)
